Assisted living facility proposed in Washington Twp.

A new senior living center could be coming to Washington Twp.

CA Senior Living, a Chicago-based developer, is seeking township approval for the new facility with independent living, assisted living and memory care units.

The proposed facility is the latest in a series of senior living centers proposed or under construction in the Dayton area.

In nearby Beavercreek, six separate senior living or retirement communities representing about $100 million in investment are under construction or in the planning phase.

The center would be built at 1580 Austin Blvd., near the intersection with Yankee Street and The Golf Club at Yankee Trace.

The property will need to be rezoned from industrial to office to allow the construction of the facility.

The land is now owned by Miami Twp.-based RG Properties, which is in the midst of selling the property.

CA Senior Living is an affiliate of CA Ventures, a developer and real esate investor with divisions for student living, residential, office, hospitality and senior living.

It states on its website that the company specializes in senior living in “affordable luxury communities in desireable locations with easy access to shopping, medical facilities, and residential neighborhoods.”

CA Ventures said in a letter to the township that it anticipates it would start construction within one year of the rezoning being approved and the facility should be developed in one phase.

CA Ventures will also own and operate the facility after its developed.

An early rendering shows the facility would be two stories, though doesn’t give details on how many beds or the cost of the project.

CA Ventures did not immediately return a request for comment.

Ryan Lee, township zoning manager, said he didn’t anticipate there being any issues with rezoning the property.

Lee said the property rezoning will be considered in December.
