Career fair for veterans set for May 25

A free hiring event for veterans, transitioning military personnel, military spouses, National Guard members, reservists and military spouses takes place later this month at a well-known venue.

The RecruitMilitary All-Veteran Career Fair is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 25 at Paul Brown Stadium, One Paul Brown Stadium, Cincinnati.

Sponsored by Xavier University, the event is being produced by RecruitMilitary in partnership with DAV and will feature more than 65 Cincinnati-area exhibitors.

“DAV RecruitMilitary job fairs maintain a track record of helping veterans and their families find meaningful employment,” RecruitMilitary President and CEO Peter Gudmundsson said in a release. “Just last year, 52 percent of veteran job seekers expected to secure an interview following a DAV RecruitMilitary job fair.

“Employers were expected to extend as many as 40,300 interviews and more than 12,560 job offers.”

The job fair will feature national, regional and local job opportunities, as well as entrepreneurial and educational offerings.

Among the companies attending RecruitMilitary’s Cincinnati event are Alkermes, Archer Daniels Midland, Castellini Company LLC, Cincinnati Bell Inc., Department of Veteran Affairs, Farmers Insurance, First Command Financial Planning, GardaWorld, Intelligrated, Inc., Jurgensen Companies, Kao USA Inc., KeyCorp, Standard Textile, Sysco and TANK-Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky.

RecruitMilitary has held 21 events in Cincinnati, drawing 7,037 attendees and 1,151 exhibitors. The company has produced more than 814 events in 65 cities across the country.
