Dayton roofing company prepares to move to Huber

A Dayton commercial roofing company is preparing to move to Huber Heights.

“We’ve grown and we needed a larger tenant space,” said Jonathan Wolf, who is president of Tecta America Zero Co. LLC in Cincinnati.

Contractor JTF Construction has applied to Montgomery County to alter office and warehouse space at 6104 Executive Blvd. on behalf of Tecta America, which opened a location at 2300 S. Edwin C. Moses Blvd. in Dayton in 2013.

The estimated market value of the completed project will be $75,000, according to the completed commercial application form submitted to the county.

The architect in the project is Casler Design Group Inc. of Cincinnati. Fairfield’s JTF Construction is identified as the contractor.

Rosemont, Ill.-based Tecta is a commercial roofing company. In 2016, the company acquired MB Roofing in Columbus, and Tecta has about 60 locations nationwide.

The Executive Boulevard building has more than 43,000 square feet of rentable space, according to its Loopnet listing. It was built in 1979 and was listed at a rental rate of $4 to $4.25 per square foot.

“We signed a lease to move into the building,” Wolf said. “That is our plan, yes.”

“Our current location was not adequately sized for our growth,” he said. “We looked around and we found a tenant space that was built out for us.”

The Dayton location will close. About three full-time people will move to the Huber Heights location, Wolf said. The company’s office also has a number of field workers, about 15 to 30 depending on the season, he said.
