Payroll Project: Fairborn’s highest paid employees

Ten Fairborn city employees brought home six-figure pay last year, which is twice as many as in 2014, according to an I-Team analysis of city payroll data as part of the I-Team Payroll Project.

The city of more than 33,000 residents had 174 employees make at least $50,000 last year, slightly more than the 164 paid that much in 2014.

The city’s highest public workers in 2015 were:

1. Deborah McDonnell, city manager: $143,544

2. John Thomas, fire division chief: $136,699

3. Michael Riley, fire chief: $108,251

4. Daniel Arwood, police captain: $107,920

5. Peter Bales, assistant city manager: $107,528
