Kroger looks to hire for 10K permanent positions

Kroger announced it’s looking to fill 10,000 permanent positions in its supermarket divisions.

The Cincinnati-headquartered company also announced it created more than 12,000 jobs in 2016, and has added more than 86,000 permanent jobs in the past eight years. Kroger and its subsidiaries currently employ 443,000 associates.

“Kroger’s growth trajectory continues to create opportunities for our people to advance their careers – and to do that in a fun, team environment with great benefits,” said Tim Massa, Kroger’s group vice president of human resources and labor relations.

Kroger is building two new locations locally, both set to open in the summer. The new 125,000-square-foot Kroger store being built on Feedwire Road in Centerville will open by late May or early June, according to the company.

Another 124,000-square-foot marketplace location will be opened in Fairborn by late August. Kroger has 2,796 retail stores in 35 states.
