Midmark to join forces with German manufacturer

Midmark Corp. is entering a new partnership with a German medical diagnostic instrument manufacturer.

Midmark Corp, which is headquartered in Dayton, will work with HEINE, a German manufacturer of medical diagnostic instruments for early detection of diseases. The two companies will start collaborating in January 2018, providing customers with three diagnostic instruments: otoscopes, ophthalmoscopes and manual sphygmomanometers.

Based in Germany, nearly all processes are completed in-house at HEINE facilities in Germany, ensuring Midmark and HEINE customers “with high quality, lasting and durable products,” the company said.

“Many non-acute care clinicians in the United States may not even realize there are options available for this type of diagnostic equipment,” said Oliver Heine, CEO of HEINE Optotechnik. “We have an opportunity to educate customers on the benefits of seeing more clearly for exams at the point of care – and provide a solution that ultimately improves diagnosis and treatment for patients.”

Midmark will move approximately 20 to 25 positions from the current Dayton location.

“Our decision to locate our headquarters within the Dayton region continues to be a positive one. The area is rich in talent and innovation, and the impact is visible throughout Midmark,” said Bob Morris, chief financial officer for Midmark.

The new headquarters will into the Austin Landing development at the corner of Penny Lane and Rigby Road. The office will be a 12,000-square-foot space located on the third floor of an office that is to be constructed in 2018.
