Springfield hotel offers free stays for caregivers

The holidays can be a stressful time, especially those traveling to visit loved ones in nursing homes and hospitals.

One Springfield hotel is offering a deal to ease that stress.

Fairfield Inn and Suites, the hotel chain owned by TMI Hospitality, is offering free rooms to friends or family members hospitalized, in a nursing home or in a treatment center during the holidays from Thanksgiving through Christmas Day, as part of their Room in the Inn program.

“The program started with our ownership who had experienced medical emergencies and they wanted to establish a program to help those in need,” said Nicole Ellis, TMI Hospitality’s spokeswoman.

The program is in its 28th year and Fairfield Inn has participated in the event since opening its location in Springfield.
