Woolpert to see piece of $610M federal contract

With another company, a Beavercreek-based engineering firm will have a piece of a contract with the Federal Emergency Management Agency which has a potential value of up to $610 million.

Woolpert will provide engineering and architecture services under a five-year FEMA contract which has a ceiling value of $610 million, the company said this week. Serco Inc. is the prime contractor and has partnered with Woolpert to evaluate public infrastructure after federally declared disasters or emergencies.

Woolpert will work on FEMA projects in an area that includes Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and several other states.

Woolpert did similar work for governments in the wake of hurricanes Irma and Harvey in 2017 and after flooding in South Carolina in 2015.

“This immediate, accurate assessment of public infrastructure will help identify which roads, bridges, ports, harbors, airports, etc., are structurally sound in the wake of a catastrophe,” Matt Harrison, Woolpert program director, said in a press release.
