Ohio's busiest ambulette companies

Only five companies earned more than $100,000 per vehicle billing Medicaid for ambulette transports in the 12-month period ending in June 2013, according to an I-Team analysis of Ohio Medicaid billing data and Ohio Emergency Medical Services ambulette licenses. These are just a few examples of some companies' drastic differences between the number of transports for wheelchair patients billed to Medicaid and the number of transports reported to Ohio EMS. Rapid Medical Transportation is suspended from Medicaid pending a fraud investigation. Star Medical Transportation officials were indicted on fraud charges. The other three companies have not been accused of any wrongdoing.
