Actor Anthony Michael Hall is facing a charge of felony battery with serious bodily injury, accused of attacking his neighbor during an argument over an open gate, according to multiple reports.

Hall, 48, is accused of pushing his neighbor to the ground with enough force to break the man's wrist during a confrontation on Sept. 13 at the actor's condominium complex in Los Angeles' Playa del Rey community, the Los Angeles Times reported. The neighbor also suffered a back injury.

Authorities charged Hall on Nov. 17, the Times reported, although he had yet to turn himself in as of Tuesday.

The charges carry a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.

In court documents obtained by TMZ, Hall's neighbor said the incident was the latest in a string of run-ins with the actor. Along with giving him "menacing looks," the neighbor claimed that Hall has sprayed him and his patio with a hose on multiple occassions.

A judge granted the neighbor a temporary restraining order, which has since expired.

It's not the first time that Hall, best known for his roles in "Sixteen Candles," "The Breakfast Club" and "Weird Science," has been accused of harassing a neighbor.

Police took Hall into custody in 2011 after a neighbor said the actor tore up plants in a common area of Hall's condominium complex, police told the Times. When the neighbor confronted him, Hall threatened to "beat him to a pulp," the newspaper reported.

He was charged with disturbing the peace and was released on $500 bail, according to the Whittier Daily News.
