New

Clashmore Mike’s Chili

This restaurant at 105 S. Second St. in Miamisburg aims to be “the ‘Zombie Dogz’ of Chilli,” according to Brian Walusis, the co-founder. The business currently operates only on Mondays out of Nibbles.

Firehouse Subs

On April 18, Firehouse Subs hosted a ribbon-cutting for its newest location at the Cornerstone of Centerville development. The restaurant located at 5239 Cornerstone North Blvd. offers hot subs, salads, chili and other sandwiches in an atmosphere that resembles an old firehouse.

Prems Chennai Delight Indian Cuisine 

This Indian restaurant that specializes in cuisine form southern India opened its doors at 725 Lyons Rd. in Washington Twp. The 2,000-square-foot restaurant in the Washington Park Plaza seats 48 and has five employees.

Tim Horton's 

On April 18, the area’s newest Tim Horton’s opened its doors promptly at 5 a.m. The restaurant and coffee shop is located just north of Stebbins High School at 1975 Harshman Road.

Mudlick Tap House

The gastropub-style restaurant coming to downtown Dayton could begin hosting some invitation-only, soft-open events in early June, owners said recently. The co-founders, who also operate a Mudlick Tap House in Germantown, have spent the last several months renovating the former Club Aquarius space at 135 E. Second St.

District 6 Donuts

A new donut shop in Oakwood is shooting for a June 1 opening date. This shop will allow customers to customize their donuts with different icing, toppings and drizzle, in much the same way diners at Chipotle order their food.

Fusian, a fast-casual sushi chain founded by three Oakwood natives, plans to open its third Dayton location on May 6. The restaurant will be located at 2733 Fairfield Commons in a space adjacent to BRAVO Cucina Italiana.

Melt Bar & Grill 

The Ohio-based gourmet grilled-cheese restaurant chain will open a restaurant at the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek on June 1. The 5,000-square-foot restaurant, the region’s first Melt, will seat 150 inside and 45 on the patio and is expected to hire 65 to 70 employees.

MOD Pizza 

This Seattle-based pizza chain is planning to open its first restaurant in the Dayton region in Englewood on May 10. Mod Pizza is a pioneer of the fast casual pizzas, individual pizzas made on demand and then cooked in an 800-degree oven in three minutes or less. The restaurant, which shares a 4,510-square-foot building with Starbucks, will be located at 9196 N. Main St. and will seat 76 inside and 24 on the patio.

Closing

A restaurant-bar that has operated as an Irish pub for 13 years will close its doors permanently after April 29. “As a final thank you to our loyal customers, we are offering a 50 percent discount on food and discount drink special through Saturday,” said Scott Anderson, owner of Paddy’s Irish Pub.

Max & Erma’s

The Max & Erma’s location in front of the Mall at Fairfield Commons will close in late April and convert to a different restaurant concept, MacKenzie River Pizza Grill Pub, this fall. There are no plans at this time to convert the Max & Erma’s locations on Miller Lane in Butler Twp. or in Wilmington.
