How to donate to shop that suppports Hospice patients

Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton is approaching its 40-year anniversary. Through those years, the non-profit organization has touched the lives of so many of us and our dear ones, providing care and services to those facing life-limiting illnesses.

The community-based hospice provides care in patient homes, nursing homes and assisted living facilities, hospitals and the Dayton Hospice House. Because it’s a non-profit, Hospice patients are accepted regardless of ability to pay or complexity of care.

“Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton takes great honor in our legacy of service to this community — a legacy that is only possible through the generous support this community has granted our mission,” says Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton CEO Kent Anderson.

The dedicated team of experts in end-of-life care includes doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, chaplains and volunteers. Grief support is available to family members, friends and the entire community at no cost.

Anderson says its only through the continued generosity of donors and supporters that this Hospice is able to thrive. Donations to support the volunteer program and the organization’s Heirlooms Shoppes are always welcome. Funds raised at the shops benefit patient care and services.

Gently used home furnishings, decorator items, collectibles, antiques and jewelry are sold at discounted prices. The inventory is made up entirely of donated items from the community.

Here’s what they can use at the Hospice facility:
