The sanctuary, chapel and chapel lounge of First Lutheran Church, 138 W. 1st St., was built in 1906 and 1907. It sits on the southeast corner of First and Wilkinson Streets, on the site of Dayton founding father Daniel C. Cooper's family home in downtown Dayton. In 1983, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The church is currently decorated for the Christmas season.
