Akron hospital evacuated after 3-alarm fire


A 3-alarm blaze caused the partial evacuation of an Akron hospital early Friday morning.

According to Akron Fire Department, firefighters were called to Summa St. Thomas Hospital around 6:30 a.m.  According to WOIO, the fire originated from plastic materials in the storage area.  Reports say some patients and employees were evacuated while others were relocated to safe parts of the building.

There were no injuries reported in the fire.
