Worker injured at Amazon construction site, flown to Dayton hospital

A construction worker was injured Wednesday afternoon at the Amazon construction site in Monroe.

Monroe police said the incident was reported as a steel beam falling on a worker about 3:30 p.m. at the construction site at 700 Gateway Blvd.

The worker was taken by medical helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

No other information was available.

City officials said the new 1.4 million square-foot facility is expected to open during the third quarter of 2018 and could employ about 1,000 people.
