First Financial Bancorp has named a new Dayton-Middletown market president.
First Financial said Monday that Roger Furrer no longer holds the position, although there was no further explanation for the change.
When reached by phone, Furrer declined to comment.
“We are grateful for Roger’s efforts to build our business in Dayton, serve our clients and represent our organization to the community. Beyond that, it is our corporate policy not to discuss any information related to current or former associates,” C. Douglas Lefferson, First Financial’s president of commercial banking and wealth management, said in a statement.
Existing First Financial banker Dan Kane has been promoted to the regional president position.
“Dan has been serving the Dayton market for more than 27 years, including seven years with First Financial,” Lefferson said in a statement.
Previously Cincinnati-based First Financial Bancorp announced several top leadership changes in an August filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
At the time Claude Davis, president and chief executive officer, was said to be continuing in the positions of chairman and chief executive officer of First Financial.
However, First Financial said in the filing the role of president for the bank had been divided by each of the line of business leaders this way: Kevin Langford, president — consumer banking; C. Douglas Lefferson, president — commercial banking and wealth management; and Jill Stanton, president — mortgage banking.
First Financial is the eighth largest bank by deposits in the Dayton metropolitan, and fifth largest in the Cincinnati metro, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
