Butler County man arrested, charged with sex crimes involving children

Police have arrested a Butler County man accused of more than a dozen sex crimes dating back to 1997.

Terry D. Lewis, 47, of Hamilton, was indicted by a Butler County grand jury last week on seven counts of rape, four counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, gross sexual imposition and sexual battery.

Lewis was arrested Monday at the Hamilton Inn. He now faces 13 felony charges involving sex with children.

“You don’t like investigating these types of cases,” Trenton Police Detective Sean Gill told our media partner WCPO. “They kind of turn your stomach.”

Gill began investigating Lewis in October 2015. At the time, he said, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center had notified him of a patient who had been been sexually assaulted. Following that tip led to an encounter with a second young victim, according to Gill.

The trail Gill followed produced numerous other assaults connected to Lewis, he said. Some of the crimes were 30 years old.

Anyone with more information about Lewis should contact the Trenton Police Department at 513-988-6341.
