Cassano’s seeks beer license for 2 Pizza King restaurants

Cassano's Pizza King has applied for licenses to serve beer at two of its Dayton-area restaurants.

Applications were filed last week with the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Liquor Control for the pizza chain’s new location at 192 Woodman Drive in the Airway Shopping Center in Riverside and at 2655 W. Alex-Bell just south of Cobblegate Drive.

“We will have both domestic bottled and draft beer in these locations,” said Cassano’s spokeswoman Lora Cassano Hammons.

The Airway Shopping Center location opened in May, replacing a pizza shop down the street at 2418 E. Third St. in Dayton. That shop had opened in 1973.

Several other Cassano’s have beer licenses, but neither the Airway nor the Alex-Bell locations currently have the license necessary to serve beer.
