Commemorative rifles sold as part of Monroe bicentennial

Limited edition rifles are being sold this weekend as part of Monroe’s bicentennial celebration.

The three different Henry rifles feature engravings of various Monroe milestones over the city’s 200-year history.

Angela Wasson of the bicentennial committee said a total of 30 rifles were produced, and the city’s bicentennial committee will receive a donation for each rifle sold.

Twenty-five Henry Standard and Golden Boy .22 caliber rifles will be produced, along with five Big Boy rifles that can be made in .357, .44, .41 or .45 caliber versions.

The engraved items include:

  • the Monroe Bicentennial logo
  • President James Monroe
  • the Red Onion Hotel and Stagecoach Stop
  • the Pioneer Log Cabin the Monroe Volunteer Fire Dept.
  • the Paragon Plow
  • the Monroe Minute Man Badge
  • the Warner General Store
  • the city of Monroe logo

The cost of the rifles are: $695 for the Henry Standard .22 rifle; $850 for the Henry Golden Boy .22 rifle; and $1,295 for the Henry Big Boy rifles with various calibers.

All of the rifles are 100 percent made in America, including the barrels that are made in Ohio.
