Clark County deputies to crack down on impaired driving this weekend

Clark County Sheriff’s deputies will be watching for drivers under the influence this holiday weekend.

Using grant money from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office, additional deputies will patrol county roadways during St. Patrick’s Day weekend, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

“Sheriff Burchett wishes all the motoring public to enjoy the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, but reminds all motorists not to operate a motor vehicle while under the influence and to always wear your seat belt while operating or as a passenger in a motor vehicle,” the news release says.

The focus of the enforcement will be impaired driving, speeding and seat belt enforcement, deputies said, and there will be a zero tolerance policy.
