She was found guilty April 17 on one count each of aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault.
The incident occurred on Oct. 22, 2015 while Ellison was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus at a high rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle in the 3800 block of Germantown Pike in Dayton, according to the release.
The vehicle crossed the centerline of the roadway and struck a utility pole and a fence. When they arrived, paramedics located the body of Angelaca Pleasant, 24, who partially ejected from the vehicle. Two other passengers in the car were transported to Miami Valley Hospital for serious injuries they sustained in the crash, according to the release.
Ellison submitted to a blood test and was found to be positive for both alcohol and marijuana at the time of the crash. In addition, she’s never had a valid driver’s license, the release said.
