A Springfield man has been accused of breaking into a local bar and a landscaping company.

Richard Tepfenhart Sr., 45, of Springfield, is charged with two counts of breaking and entering and theft in Clark County Municipal Court. Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputies allegedly he and another man were caught on camera breaking into Taylor’s Tavern on Dayton-Springfield Road in July.

“Both suspects kept their face covered while in the establishment on first entry, but eventually one of them that removed the cash register let his face show,” a deputy’s affidavit says. “I was able to identify this subject as Richard Tepfenhart Sr.”

The sheriff’s office also accused him and his partner of breaking into LA Trees on Lower Valley Pike earlier this month and stealing some equipment. The affidavit alleges he’s suspected of selling the equipment to a person he didn’t know.

Tepfenhart pleaded not guilty to the charges on Friday and his bond was set at $5,000.
