Springfield man accused of sexual contact with 14-year-old

A Springfield man has been accused of having sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl.

Reuben C. Finlay, 30, 0f 1898 W. Jefferson St. in Springfield, has been charged with two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. He pleaded not guilty in Clark County Municipal Court this morning and his bond was set at $30,000.

Officers began investigating the case in September. A sexual assault kit was completed and submitted into evidence and authorities interviewed the juvenile in early October.

She alleged she had sex with Finlay on Sept. 4 after visiting his home, according to court documents. The teen told authorities she made Finlay aware she was 14 but he allegedly asked her not to tell anyone about the incident, court records say.

The juvenile told authorities she allegedly had sex with Finlay a second time at his home at a later date, according to court records.

In late October, detectives received information from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation that DNA evidence collected allegedly matched Finlay, according to court records.
