Triple overdose in Dayton parking lot captured on camera

Three people said to have travelled from Muncie, Indiana to Dayton to purchase heroin were found overdosing on heroin inside their vehicle in the parking lot of McDonalds, according to a Dayton police report.

Police responded to the parking lot, 1219 North Gettysburg Ave., around 4:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a triple overdose, according to the report.

Firefighters and police found the three individuals and two were given Narcan and the third woke up on her own, according to the report.

The two people who were administered Narcan were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for evaluation, and one of those individuals, Adam Shields, 29, was arrested for suspicion of drug possession.

Officers ended up finding suspected heroin on Shields and one of the other victims told officers they travelled to Dayton to purchase heroin and all three used the same needle to inject the drug, the report said.
