Dayton made a list of cities that have ‘fallen into decline.’ Here’s why people in Dayton would argue.

Business Insider on Sunday published a story headlined "10 American cities that have fallen into decline," and Dayton made its list.

Dayton, which ranked No. 10, has lost 46.1 percent of it’s population since it’s peak population nearly 60 years ago, according to the story. The decline parallels the decline of coal, steel and automotive industries, it wrote.

Other Ohio cities on the list include Cleveland at No. 4 and Youngstown at number No. 3.

The St. Louis population has decreased by 62.7 percent, making it No. 1 on the declining cities list.
