Englewood man admits guilt in home invasion plea deal

TROY – An Englewood man among five indicted in a thwarted home invasion in Union Twp., Miami County, pleaded guilty Thursday, April 27, to three felony charges and a gun specification as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.

Corey Dixon, 18, was among five men arrested following the September invasion at a North Montgomery County Line Road residence in which shots were fired by intruders and the home owner.

One of the men, Keason Twitty, 25, of Dayton was seriously injured during the incident. He pleaded guilty in January to felony aggravated burglary with a firearm specification, conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary and felonious assault. His sentencing has been continued while other cases were handled in county Common Pleas Court.

Dixon also pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary with a firearm specification, conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary and felonious assault. As part of the plea deal, prosecutors will recommend a seven-year sentence in exchange for the pleas and Dixon’s cooperation, Judge Jeannine Pratt was told during Thursday’s hearing.

Dixon’s sentencing was scheduled for June 12.

Kristian Martinez, 23, of Phillipsburg pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary. He also is scheduled for sentencing June 12.

Charges are pending against the remaining two defendants. They are James Benton, 24, address listed as at large, and Eric Santos, 21, of Trotwood.

Sheriff’s deputies described the invasion as “narcotics-related.” The homeowner has not been charged.
