New restaurant at The Greene hosts Hawaiian Luau

A ribbon-cutting has been set for 4 p.m. June 18 for Crazy Mango Bar & Bistro at 81 Magnolia Lane across from Von Maur at The Greene.

And all this week, through Saturday, the restaurant is hosting a Hawaiian Luau with a special island-themed menu (see below).

Crazy Mango is an independent restaurant owned by Bob and Judy Silva, who previously owned and operated Bahn Mai Thai Cafe in Washington Twp. The couple opened Crazy Mango earlier this year in the space that previously housed Joya’s Bistro on the east side of The Greene.

Here’s a peek at the Hawaiian Luau special menu, as submitted by Crazy Mango’s Judy Silva:

APPETIZERS

Samoan Shrimp, $9. Large tiger shrimp skewered with a pineapple chunk, lightly battered in beer batter and

breaded, deep fried and drizzled with our delicious house Red curry coconut milk sauce.

Coconut Shrimp, $8. Large tiger shrimp lightly battered in beer batter, coated with shaved coconut and

served with our sweet chili sauce.

Polynesian Poke, $10. Diced, sashimi quality, wild caught, raw Ahi Tuna, sea weed, sesame and ginger

served in a lettuce cup with edible orchids.

SALAD

Island Tropical Fruit Salad, $7. Papaya, pineapple, kiwi, mango and starfruit served with Banana dip and a sprinkle of coconut.

ALL HAWAIIAN BURGERS, WINGS AND ENTREES Served with either a mound of fries or Yellow Curry Pineapple Fried Rice and a taste of Poi (or upgrade to a small salad for $2).

BIG KAHUNA BURGER, $12. A slice of grilled pineapple, sandwiched in between 2 House teriyaki marinated

beef patties.

WINGS Wing/Drum Combo $9 Or All Drums or Boneless $10; Add a side of celery and bleu cheese for $1.75

Huli Huli Wings Six golden-fried wings tossed in our house pineapple-teriyaki sauce sprinkled with sesame seeds

ENTREES

Mainland Shrimp, $16. Two skewers of grilled large shrimp, bell peppers, mango and papaya.

Vegetable Skewers $12 Bell peppers, mango, papaya, eggplant and red onion.

Waikiki Mahi Mahi, $19. An 8 oz portion of Pan Seared select Mahi Mahi topped with mango salsa.

Kalua Pork in Banana Leaves, $12. Smoky shredded pork roasted in banana leaves, succulent and tender.

DESSERT

Hot Lava, $6. Made from Scratch Chocolate Cake! Baked in our stone-fired pizza oven served with hot

fudge. Topped with vanilla bean ice cream and whipped cream and a cherry.
