One of the most popular speakers at the annual Dayton Women’s Fair is Cindy Ewing, the Centerville blogger who shares extreme couponing tips with enthusiastic crowds.
Ewing says she has a terrific time as well.
“The Dayton Women’s Fair is a great girls’ day out,” says the woman who dubs herself the Happy Homemaker. This will be her third stint at the weekend event.
“The best part is that it’s totally unpredictable,” Ewing says. ” Everything is a surprise!”
This year’s surprises will be unveiled on Saturday, Sept. 21 and Sunday, Sept 22 at the Airport Expo Center in Vandalia. The special days incorporate food, beauty, fashion, crafts, health, entertainment, home and decorating. More than 130 shopping booths are featured.
Ewing says the weekend is unique because it combines both entertainment and education. She says she always gives herself extra time “to hook up with old friends and make some new ones.”
This year she’ll be updating her audiences on recent coupon policy changes.
“My focus — as usual — is revealing money-saving strategies that real people can use everyday,” Ewing says. ” My emphasis is not on how much money you save, rather how little you can spend and still eat well.”
Other popular Fair attractions include cooking demonstrations, fashion shows, live make-overs. Visitors can participate in the K99 game show, “Make a Deal” on Saturday, or the “Minute to Win It” game on Sunday. The Dayton Daily News will announce the 2013 Ten Top Women on the runway stage on Sunday. A cocktail court is available for relaxation
Lisa Allan oversees the event for Cox Media Group Ohio and says her event team works hard to “add new vendors, showcase unique entertainment, provide healthy cooking demonstrations and offer delicious food and tasty drinks to try!”
This time around, she says, visitors will notice that more fashion and jewelry booths have been added and there’s more health and wellness information as well.
Concludes Allen: “There’s nothing better than the sound of women laughing and enjoying themselves! That’s what The Dayton Women’s Fair is all about.”
