“The Sinful Orchard” — an independent restaurant that will focus strongly on local sourcing of its food — is gearing up to open “very soon” at The Greene Town Center, its co-founder says on the eatery’s web site.
The restaurant applied for a full liquor license earlier this week at 81 Magnolia Lane, in space that has been vacant for more than two years, since Crazy Mango Bistro & Bar shut down in July 2015. The location is on the eastern side of The Greene’s retail complex, near the Von Maur department store.
Shaine Sullivan, co-founder and general manager of The Sinful Orchard, told this news outlet this morning that the restaurant has a signed lease with The Greene, but is relatively early in the development stage. Plans call for a soft opening in February, with a grand opening in March, Sullivan said
The Sinful Orchard “is not a chain restaurant; it goes beyond the commonplace fare,” Sullivan writes on the restaurant’s web site. “Specialties will include smoked meats, appetizers, daily specials, happy hour deals, drinks and more. Prepare to be blown away by the vast array of hand-crafted beers, some of which are currently not offered in this area. Wine and alcoholic beverages will also be on display for your consumption.”
“We at The Orchard are excited to bring to you our idea of fresh, homemade food. What sets The Orchard apart is that all vegetables and meats will be raised and hand-selected locally. Breads and specials will be prepared fresh daily and made from scratch using actual handed down recipes that have been used generationally. These span from the traditional to more adventurous.”
“Live musical entertainment and nightly specials will be available as well. The Orchard will be available for private parties and will work with you to help develop a menu for your event! The Orchard looks forward to meeting you soon!”
This news outlet has reached out representatives of The Greene and will update this story with additional information about The Sinful Orchard.
There had been some interest from another potential tenant for the Magnolia Lane space. In September 2016, a potential new restaurant called La Cantina applied for a liquor license for the space, but those efforts apparently stalled.
