The 52,750 square feet Miami Twp. location — which had been expected to finished this summer — will be the Dallas-based company’s first site in Ohio upon its opening, now projected for the fall, according to a public relations firm for the company.
It will join four South Florida cinemas as middle-tier Cinépolis USA sites. The six-year-old company offers luxury, premium and traditional theaters among its 16 locations in Southern California, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey and New York, according to its website.

The Austin Landing site “will feature an elegant lobby space and an expanded concession area offering gourmet snacks as well as beer, wine and signature cocktails,” according to Jessica Abercrombie, account manager of Murphy O’Brien Public Relations in Los Angeles.
Cinépolis USA’s four premium theaters, all in South Florida, include “comfortable seats, and cutting-edge sound and projection technology, and an enhanced concession menu that is available to take to your seat along with beer and wine,” according to its website.

The experience will be a “higher level, higher quality,” Dillin said, than moviegoers can experience in Southwest Ohio outside of the Liberty Town Center’s Cobb Liberty Luxury 15 & CinéBistro.
Cinépolis Dayton will add 75 to 100 part- and full-time time workers to the more than 2,500 employed in jobs at Austin Landing, according to Abercrombie.

Moving back the opening of Cinépolis Dayton to the fall isn’t a significant delay so long as it is finished before the holidays, peak time for the industry, Dillin said.
A late summer/early fall opening is “absolutely reasonable,” she said.

It is not the first delay in the project. When the cinema was announced in June 2015, it was initially targeted to open in the fall 2016.
But issues with the design and construction schedule prompted the delays, VisCap President Larry Dillin said.
