5 high-profile shootings in the Dayton Mall area

Here are five recent times gunfire broke out around the Dayton Mall area.

-Monday: A 48-year-old woman faces charges in what police described as a domestic dispute outside the Dayton Mall Sears.

The incident involved multiple gunshots being fired and ended in the arrest of Jordana L. Esses. She is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a felonious assault charge after being booked Monday night.

Initial reports indicate the report came in about 4:45 p.m. and 10 to 15 shots were fired, according to police.

A male victim was struck at least once in his lower leg, and Esses had no visible injuries, police said. Police so far have not released the name of the man.

-Jan. 26, 2017: Three men were arrested at Hawthorn Suites By Wyndam Miamisburg/Dayton Mall South after an investigation by police that ended with officers shooting at the suspects, who allegedly tried to hit the police with their vehicle.

Those arrested were Shaun Hill, 27; Richard Benton, 28; Antwaun Brown, 31, and Darion Stargell, according to jail records. Brown was the driver and he was faces a charge of felonious assault on a police officer while the other two face charges obstructing official business.

Hill and Benton were each indicted on a single count of obstructing official business. A grand jury in March declined charges against three R.A.N.G.E. Task Force officers involved in this January shooting.

-Dec. 20, 2014: A 16-year-old Middletown student was shot and killed outside the Dayton Mall while trying to rob a concealed-carry permit holder of his newly purchased athletic shoes. Jawaad A. Jabbar was shot at about 10 a.m. near the mall's hhgregg entrance. The shooter and another adult male came out of the mall and were approached by three male juveniles, including Jabbar.

June 11, 2014: A 41-year-old Los Angeles man was fatally shot outside P.F. Chang's restaurant. Jermaine D. Boone, 41, of Los Angeles, died of multiple gunshot wounds at about 8:15 p.m. in the parking lot of the Chinese restaurant at 2626 Miamisburg-Centerville Road near the Dayton Mall. A companion, Damon Thompson, 45, of Atlanta, was shot in the arm. He was treated and released from the hospital.

April 4, 2013: An FBI drug investigation ended in a shootout and the death of a 20-year-old Dayton man at the Beverage Palace at 8980 Kingsridge Drive. Jermaine C. Coleman Jr., 20, of Dayton, was fatally wounded after he drove an Impala in reverse and rammed into a special agent's vehicle and accelerated forward to ram into another police vehicle, according to documents.
