High water causing issues on Butler County roads

The Butler County Emergency Management Agency is reporting the county fared better through the strong storms than some neighboring communities.

Matt Haverkos, director of the EMA, said the county did see some hail generally of a quarter-inch size but there were some “clumps of about one inch” at the Voice of America Park in West Chester Twp.

Haverkos said his agency had been in touch with the Educational Services Center and there weren’t any notable problems getting students to school.

“The storm front pushed through with minimal damage other than the hail and warnings and watches and high water associated with it,” he said. “We certainly fared a little better than some of our neighboring counties at this point.”
