3 Clark County schools get new treasurers

Two Clark County school districts have new leaders in charge of their finances.

Tecumseh Local Schools recently hired Denise Robinson to be its treasurer. She previously served as treasurer for Northeastern Local Schools.

“I feel very welcomed here by the administration, staff and the board of education and I look forward to meeting community members and students,” Robinson said. “I have an open door policy and anyone can email me or call me anytime with school-related questions.”

She is set to make more than $113,500 a year at Tecumseh.

Robinson is a Tecumseh graduate who had worked at Northeastern for 15 years. She said changing districts wasn’t an easy choice.

“I was at the point in my career that it was time to move on and broaden my work experience,” she said.

The move by Robinson prompted a search by the Northeastern Local School Board to hire a new treasurer. The board met Jan. 15 during a special meeting to interview potential candidates.

“We will have another meeting on Jan. 25,” Northeastern Local Schools Superintendent John Kronour said.

Northwestern also recently welcomed a new treasurer, hiring Julie Gibson from Greeneview Local Schools.

“It was really a family decision and mostly due to geographic reasons (shorter commute to work), in addition to professional growth in my career,” Gibson said in an email.
