Miamisburg council approves pay raises

Miamisburg City Council has approved salary increases for its city manager, law director and prosecutor.

The 2.5 percent raises were voted on Tuesday night and are consistent with those approved last month for Miamisburg non-union workers.

Approval sets increases for City Manager Keith Johnson’s annual salary at $126,937.47, while Law Director Phil Callahan’s pay moves to $61,682.82.

Prosecutor Christine Burk’s salary rises to $88,470.95, while council clerk Judith Barney’s pay moves to $6,990.74, city records show.

The increases will be retroactive to Dec. 19, records show. They are the same percentage increase that council approved last month for non-union city employees in 2017, said City Councilman Tom Nicholas.

Last month the city also approved pay raises for two collective bargaining groups and non-union employees. Both units of the Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association will receive 2.5 percent increases for years 2017 and 2018, according to the city.

Along with the two-year contract, the police sergeants unit is eligible to reopen terms in 2019 for an additional third year.
