For the first two years the event was located in Middletown, where it outgrew the space. This will be the first year the festival is located close to the shelter in Monroe Crossings Park, said event volunteer Mary Ann Crease.
Plenty of activities featuring pets will be on tap, including Chloe the painting border collie, who will be showing off her skills and have work available for sale.

There will also be demonstrations from police dogs, a blessing of the animals, obedience demonstrations, best trick contest and look like your owner contest.
A swimming pool will be set up for pooches to take a dip and wading pools for small paws.
“One of the favorite events is the wiener dog race, and it is back this year,” Crease said. “It is just so much fun.”
Already about 15 eager dachshunds have signed up to run, but Crease said others can sign up on Saturday.
There were be plenty of treats for people and pets, including the Oscar-Mayer WienerMobile.

Along with raffle baskets, festival goers can buy a chance to win a one week getaway in a Gatlinburg Chalet.
The event is free, but a $1 donation is asked for parking.
“All the money raised goes to the dogs and the cats,” Crease said.
The fun begins at 4 p.m. and continues until 8 p.m., with wiener dog racing at 6 p.m.
