Beavercreek names city manager; He’ll start Dec. 1

The city of Beavercreek has selected Pete Landrum as city manager.

Landrum is currently the administrator for Delhi Twp., one of 12 townships in Hamilton County. He has served the township since 2012.

He will start working with the city on Dec. 1 and will work with current City Manager Mike Cornell, who will retire at the end of the year.

Landrum will have a three-year contract. He was selected from four finalists who were interviewed in late October.

UPDATED @ 8:27 p.m.: Landrum previously served as assistant county administrator and director of the Office of Management & Budget for Butler County in Hamilton, and held the positions of Juvenile Court finance director, management analyst, and Job & Family Services supervisor for Montgomery County.

He holds a master’s degree in public administration and a bachelor’s in social and industrial communications from Wright State University.

Landrum resides in Miamisburg, but plans to relocate to Beavercreek, according to a prepared statement released Monday night.

“We are very pleased that Pete accepted the offer to serve as our next city manager,” Mayor Bob Stone said in the statement.

“The Beavercreek City Council felt that his leadership skills, extensive financial and budgeting background, coupled with his familiarity with Ohio State statutes and the Greater Dayton region were a great fit with our community, and he should be able to quickly acclimate to his new responsibilities as city manager,” the mayor said.

Landrum, in the same statement, said, “My wife and I are very excited and honored to come to Beavercreek. It is a great community, and I look forward to working with City Council, community leaders, and residents to help continue to move Beavercreek forward.”
