Lane closures along Monroe's South Main Street

A water main project will require periodic lane closures of South Main Street in Monroe for 30 days.

Starting today, April 24, there will be lane closures on South Main Street so that a contractor can install a new 12-inch water main from the intersection of Lebanon Street to near the entrance of Community Park across from Mason Avenue.

FIRST REPORT: Monroe replacing water main along South Main Street

The contractor is required to maintain at least one lane of traffic throughout construction and will use flaggers to control traffic.

In addition, school buses and emergency vehicles will be permitted to go through at all times.
