Dayton hospital buys industrial property


Dayton Children’s Hospital bought an industrial property near its main campus as part of its long term plans for growth and expansion.

The hospital bought the property that houses Progressive Printers along the 800 block of Valley Street for $550,000 in a sale that recorded by Montgomery County Tuesday.

Grace Jones, a spokeswoman for the hospital, said the acquisition of the real estate is part of the hospital’s long term plans for growth and expansion, but at this time they are still evaluating what to do with the it.

“We’re still determining what we will use that property for,” she said.

A message was also left with Progressive Printers.

The children’s hospital has been investing in its infrastructure recently, including a $168 million investment in its new patient tower, which stands between Ohio 4 and Valley Street. The tower added 260,000 square feet to the hospital, which as of 2016 had a patient volume of 339,131.
