Dayton man is arrested in Tennessee on fugitive warrant

A Dayton man, wanted as a fugitive by authorities in Fayette County, Washington Court House, is in a Tennessee jail after U.S. Marshals led police to him Thursday.

KingRobert Dillard, who has a history of drug-related convictions going back to January 2014, was nabbed in Murfreesboro, Tenn., behind a barber shop, WGNSradio.com reported.

The police department there had been working with information from the marshals service that Dillard was in the city of Murfreesboro.

His arrest was not without tension, according to the radio station.

As police were patting down Dillard, several acquaintances of his began to move in on police. One of Dillard's acquaintances was videotaping officers as they questioned Dillard, according to the police incident report.

The subjects had to be told multiple times to move back, officers wrote in their report.

Officers found a bag of crystal meth and a bag of heroin at the scene, according to the report, which also reveals that Dillard later admitted the drugs were his and that he sells drugs to support his habits.

The same report revealed he admitted buying drugs from one of the men present when police arrived to arrest him.

Police also seized three cellphones and more than $1,500 in cash from Dillard.

He was taken to the Adult Detention Center and charged with two counts of felony possession of a schedule-two drug with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and being a fugitive from justice.

As well, he's also on a felony fugitive hold out of Fayette County, Ohio, according to a jailer at the Rutherford County Jail.

Dillard will be extradited to Ohio, but he first has to deal with the drug charges filed in Murfreesboro. He is to be in court on those charges Feb. 28.

The Ohio charges stem from his arrest in Nov. 11, 2016, in Fayette County on charges of illegal conveyance of drugs, drug possession (heroin) and aggravated drug possession.
