Major Highway Incidents
- On the northbound I-75 ramp to eastbound U.S. 35 in Dayton, ODOT construction starting today will shut down the ramp until September 23rd. The official detour given by ODOT is northbound I-75 to westbound U.S. 35, to James H McGee Boulevard, to eastbound U.S. 35.
Surface Street Incidents
- In the 500 block of Walnut Springs in Oakwood, there is a water main break. The break was reported around 6:45 a.m.
- In the 800 block of Broadmoor Drive in Dayton, a car crashed into a tree and rolled over after the driver became distracted while texting and driving, police said. The driver was not injured. Clothes that were in the car were scattered across the roadway.
Ongoing Construction & Other Closures
MONTGOMERY COUNTY
- I-75 south ramp to US 35 west will be closed from January 9th to September 30th to replace a bridge deck beam that was not included in the I-75 modernization project. The official detour is: I-75 south to the Edwin C. Moses turn around lane to I-75 north to US 35 west.
- I-75 north ramp the US 35 east will be closed March 28th to September 23rd. ODOT lists the suggested detour as NB I-75 to US 35 west, to James H McGee Blvd, to US 35 east.
- On Snyder Road will be closed on March 28 between old Dayton and Little Richmond roads in Trotwood for a drain tile replacement, according to the city. The roadwork is expected to be completed around 4 p.m.
- I-70 between Airport Access Road and Taywood Road, Lane closures April 3rd - June 30th. Two lane will remain open at all times.
- SR 49 between Poplar Street and Main Street, road closure March 1st – April 30th. The official detour is: US 40 to SR 503 to SR 722.
- SR 49 south between Brookville-Salem Road and Pleasant Plain Road, Lane closures through May 31. One southbound lane will remain open at all times.
- South Gebhart Church Road between SR 725 and Maue Road, Road Closure February 6th – April 19th. The official detour is: Maue Road to Alexandersville Road to SR 725 to South Gebhart Church Road.
- Old Mill Road between Phillipsburg-Union Road and North Montgomery County Line Road, Road Closure February 6th - May 6th. The official detour is: Phillipsburg-Union Road to Rhinehard Road to North Montgomery County Line Road to Old Mill Road
- The Webster Street bridge is closed as it is rebuilt. A detour will take drivers to Keowee Street to Monument Avenue. The project is scheduled to be completed in November of 2017
MIAMI COUNTY
- Statler Road between Cromes Drive and Free Road, road closure until June 15th. The official detour is: Cromes Drive/Looney Road to US 36 to Troy-Sidney Road to Statler Road.
DARKE COUNTY
- SR 49 between Elroy- Ansonia Road and SR 47, road closure March 27th -31st. The official detour is: SR 118 to SR 47.
- SR 571 between Culbertson Road and Harzell Road, bridge closure March 8th – May 22nd. The official detour is: US 36 to US 127 to SR 49 to SR 721
- SR 721 between US 36 and Covington-Gettysburg Road, bridge closure March 20th – June 3rd. The official detour is: US 36 to SR 48 to SR 718.
SHELBY COUNTY
- North Main Avenue in Sidney between Edgewood and Parkwood streets will be closed on Tuesday, March 28 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for replacement of a water main.
- I-75 south Ramp to Fair Road, ramp closure April 9th – 14th. The official detour is: I-75 south to US 36 to I-75 north to Fair Road.
