Gunman gets prescription drugs in Harrison Twp. Rite Aid robbery

UPDATE @ 10:56 p.m.:  The investigation is focused on a gunman who made off with prescription drugs after handing a pharmacy technician a note demanding various types of medication.

The male walked back to the pharmacy at the Rite Aid in Harrison Twp., where he also brandished a black handgun.

Once he was given what he said he had come for, he left the business in an unknown direction, according to a statement the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office released tonight.

INITIAL REPORT 

Deputies are investigating a robbery that occurred at the Rite Aid on Salem Avenue in Harrison Twp.

Dispatchers said deputies responded to the business at 3875 Salem Avenue around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday on reports of a robbery.

It was not immediately known if a weapon was displayed.
