2 dump trucks catch fire in German Township

UPDATE @ 6:53 a.m.

The owner of the trucks said there were electrical issues with one of the trucks, “which certainly coincides with the damage that we found,” said Dan Alldred, German Twp. Fire Chief.

Mutual aid from Madison Twp. was requested, Alldred said.

“We had some trouble with the fuel load in the diesel tanks,” he said. “We ended up using foam to fully extinguish them and prevent rekindle.”

INITIAL REPORT

Firefighters have been dispatched after two dump trucks reportedly caught fire in German Township Monday morning.

Crews were dispatched to the 10000 block of Arch Street, just south of Germantown around 4 a.m. on a reported vehicle fire.

Scanner traffic from deputies indicates the two trucks were found on fire, but were not near any structures.

We have a crew heading to the scene and we’ll update this page when new information is available.
