Local man, 53, critically injured after being hit by vehicle


UPDATE @ 1:19 p.m.:

A man in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle on Germantown Street Friday has been identified as Christopher Armstrong, 53, of Dayton.

Armstrong was listed in critical condition at Miami Valley Hospital Monday afternoon.

According to a crash report, Armstrong was not in a crosswalk when he was hit.

INITIAL REPORT:

A man suffered life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a vehicle in the area of Germantown Street and Mount Clair Avenue in Dayton.

Sgt. Theodore Trupp said the man was crossing the street at Germantown Street (state Route 4) when he was struck by one of two vehicles headed east on Germantown just after 5 p.m.

OTHER LOCAL NEWS: Police still looking for suspects in a carjacking

The victim has been taken to Miami Valley Hospital, the sergeant said.

A police traffic reconstruction unit has been dispatched to the scene, Trupp said. The intersection will remain shut down until further notice.
