Election day dress code sparks controversy at Troy Christian

A decision parents said was made by the principal at Troy Christian schools has them questioning the school’s dress code.

According to multiple reports to this news organization Tuesday, students arrived at school wearing t-shirts supporting political candidates. But a school official asked the students to turn the shirts inside out.

Principal Scott Smith declined to comment, saying he doesn’t have permission from the superintendent. Multiple calls to the superintendent were not returned Tuesday.

Parents who contacted this news organization said they were upset because prior to election day students were permitted to wear t-shirts supporting political candidates.
