Las Vegas shooting hero: Miamisburg nurse honored

A Miamisburg nurse who helped save victims in the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history last year in Las Vegas was honored Wednesday at the Ohio Statehouse.

Christina Hole was recognized with a resolution for her role in helping save concertgoers at the Route 91 Harvest music festival, where more than 50 died and hundreds were injured on the night of Oct. 1.

Authorities said 64-year-old Stephen Paddock of Mesquite, Nev., fired more than 1,100 rounds from his suite on the 32nd floor of the nearby Mandalay Bay hotel.

Hole performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on some victims, and managed to pull others to safety, according to state Rep. Niraj Antani, who presented her with the resolution.

Antani said the honor was for Hole earning the 2017 Nurse Hero Award given by the Ohio March of Dimes.
