Mattress catches fire inside Dayton home


Dayton firefighters responded to a mattress fire in the 50 block of E. Hillcrest Avenue early Friday morning.

Crews were able to put the fire out rather quickly, according to our crew on scene.

There was no damage to the home or nearby homes. One caller who lived on the street did report seeing smoke from the fire, however.

No word on if anyone suffered injuries. Officials continue to investigate how the fire started.
