Motorcyclist hurt in crash on U.S. 127 north of Eaton, Preble County


UPDATE @ 4:39 p.m.: A male motorcyclist involved in the crash has suffered life-threatening injuries and has been taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital.

He is believed to be 20. He was wearing a helmet, according to fire and state troopers.

According to the preliminary investigation, the accident is believed to have occurred as the motorcycle attempted to pass one of two cars ahead of him as it began to turn left into a driveway..

U.S. 127 should reopen shortly.

UPDATE @ 3:38 p.m. (Oct. 18)

U.S. 127 is closed between Ohio 726 and Washington Jackson Road while OSP completes its crash investigation.

INITIAL REPORT

A crash on U.S. 127 just north of Eaton has been reported and involves injuries.

According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, at least one person was transported to Eaton Medical Center following the crash witnesses said involved a motorcycle.

The crash was reported shortly before 1:45 p.m.

XENIA — More than 200 Xenia residents were without power on Sunday as Dayton Power & Light worked to replace an underground cable and a transformer, according to a DP&L official. Heavy rain on Friday may have caused the equipment to fail.  Most of the customers had their power restored by 4:40 a.m. on Monday, according to DP&L.
