A grandfather and a great grandmother, 49-year-old Carl Perry and 73-year-old Linda Davis, were killed in the single-vehicle crash on 380 near Camp Jabez. The granddaughter, 14-month-old Harlyn, survived the crash.
The incident brings the number of people killed in Greene County crashes this year to 22, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, which said the deaths occurred in 16 crashes.
The numbers are significantly higher than previous years. The highest number of fatal crashes in the past five years was 15 in 2012. Last year, there were 10 fatal crashes, with 11 fatalities in Greene County, according to the patrol.

On Saturday, Perry, the driver, was wearing his seat belt and the toddler was buckled into a child restraint, but Davis was not buckled in, according to the patrol.
The year-to-date total for unbuckled fatal victims in Greene County is 11, compared to four in 2016, according to the patrol.
The crash remains under investigation. Alcohol was not considered a factor. The road conditions may have been a factor; the crash happened during the season’s first measurable snowfall.
