The trooper suffered only minor injuries and was walking and alert on the scene. He was taken by medic to Springfield Regional Medical Center as a precaution. His cruiser sustained significant front end damage.
The driver of the truck also suffered minor injuries and was removed by a second medic.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but roads were slick and a salt truck was called in to treat the area.
