Piqua man accused of rape is competent for trial, judge decides

A Piqua man charged with felony rape has been found competent for trial, a Miami County Common Pleas judge ruled.

Stanley Fraley, 61, is charged in a case involving an adult woman who told Troy police she was raped with force.

Fraley had pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity.

Tuesday, Judge Jeannine Pratt said the report of an evaluation of Fraley found he was able to understand and assist in court proceedings and was not suffering from any mental disease or defects at the time of the offense.

Trial is scheduled to begin Feb. 6.

Fraley remains in the county jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
